About the Author
Bruce Timm is an Emmy Award-winning artist, writer, director and producer who has been working in the animation field for nearly three decades. The majority of his career has focused on the DC Animated Universe for Warner Bros. Animation. His contributions include key roles working on the TV series Superman: The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond and Justice League. Timm has served as producer or executive producer for over a dozen animated films, including Wonder Woman, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, All-Star Superman and Batman: Year One.

STERANKO is one of the most controversial figures in contemporary culture, with multiple careers as an author, designer, musician, photographer, carnival fire-eater, publisher, male model, art director, escape artist, and illustrator. He created the first Modern Graphic Novel; collaborated with Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg, and George Lucas on some of their biggest hits; and, with Stan Lee, is critically acclaimed as one of the prime Architects of the Marvel Age of Comics.

Excellent version, bit smaller, some content missing

I own both the original and this pocket version. The differences between the two are that the pocket version is a bit smaller and that some pages that featured licensed comic characters were omitted to avoid licensing fees so this pocket version could be offered at a more affordable price.

That said, the paper quality is the same so the color reproduction is great. The larger page size of the original version is certainly nicer, feels more like viewing a portfolio. If having the extra comic book characters and the larger size are important to you, track down the original. The prices have gone quite high on it, but I think its worth it for die hard Timm collectors like me. Actually the die hards will own both. I will look most at this pocket version to to keep the larger version in nicer condition.

Either way this pocket version is a must have. The only downside is it might wet your appetite for the larger form. I uploaded a photo comparing the size.

Don't let the "pocket edition" fool you. This is a large, gorgeous book. If you're a fan of pin up artwork at all this is an invaluable addition to your library.

Well put together

BT has compiled a visual array of beauty and art into an amazingly detailed and artistically precise book of work here. I find his work to be nostaligic yet modern in color and presentation. I loved seeing the famous renditions of movie posters and theater sets, a grand visual for the art afficionado. I look forward to whatever else I can find on his level.

Dr. Miguel Alvarez has worked with children and families of divorce for the past 14 years. Dr. Alvarez performs child custody evaluations, mediation, child counseling services and adult counseling services for both English speaking and Spanish speaking families. He is a member of the Collaborative Family Law Group of San Diego and attorneys frequently refer their clients to him so that he can prepare them for Family Court Services, child custody evaluation and child custody mediation. “My goal is to prepare you for Family Court Services, Mediation, and Custody Evaluations by helping you to focus on what matters and be the best parent that you can be.” Dr. Lori Love has been specializing in working with children and families of divorce for more than 18 years. She routinely performs child custody evaluations, child custody mediation, and special master assignments. She is on the advisory board of Kid’s Turn and is involved in pioneering the Parent Coordination Program in San Diego County, California. She is a member of the Collaborative Family Law Group of San Diego. In addition, Dr. Love is well known for her presentations that combine humor and high energy with education. “My hope is that you are enlightened by our handbook and able to put your best foot forward for the betterment of your family.”

Excellent preparation book!

This book is by far the best I have found for preparation for a custody evaluation. The advice was more detailed than I was able to get in lengthy conversations with my lawyers. I found this book after my custody evaluation, but have recommended it to several people who are going through similar experiences. The advice was consistent w/ my experience in going through the evaluation process. Well worth the cost for this relatively thin book. Every page is packed w/ important information. I have also since purchased a second copy to send to my lawyers so they can recommend it to future clients.

Waste of my money

Considering I am pinching every penny, spending $30 on a book was a big decision for me. There was nothing in this book that I could not have and did not find online. This is more of a workbook. Most of the information was common sense. It is all quite vague. Most of the 50 pages are simply areas for you to write in your answers to questions. Although this might help some people out there, it is in no way worth the $30.

I'm not pretending to be an expert in custody mediation, but after reading dozens of shoddily researched books it was a pleasure to stumble upon "Child Custody Evaluation" by two of the eminent practioners of this very specialized field. Thanks to the authors for helping a neophyte like me through the maze of complications and presenting it in such a understandable and complete fashion. Well done!

Model checking is a technique for verifying finite state concurrent systems such as sequential circuit designs and communication protocols. The main challenge in model checking is dealing with the state space explosion problem. This problem occurs in systems with many components that can interact with each other or systems with data structures that can assume many different values. In such cases the number of global states can be enormous. Researchers have made considerable progress on this problem over the last ten years.

This is the first comprehensive presentation of the theory and practice of model checking. The book, which includes basic as well as state-of-the-art techniques, algorithms, and tools, can be used both as an introduction to the subject and as a reference for researchers.

a good reference

This is one of the more comprehensive references on model checking. It covers most of the main technqiues used in model checking. It does not cover bounded model checking which became popular after the publication of this book.

The writing style and the explanations in the book could be much better. You just need some patience in reading the book. Overall, I think this book is a useful reference to researchers and practitioners in the field.

This is a very famous book from a Turing award winner and from world renown experts. It is by the time still valuable. But I do not consider it as a first-approach for undergraduates.

classic, but a little out of date

This book has long been considered as a must read before doing research in this field. Without doubt, it contains all you need to know about model checking in general. However, it is a little difficult to read for beginners, and also, since it was written 10 years ago, some new advances are not included. Moreover, it puts more emphasis on CTL than LTL, or more "states" than "paths". It is OK, but more difficult to introduce fairness and infinite paths. Personally, I recommend "Principles of Model Checking" by Christel Baier. But still, you may need a copy of this one in your bookshelf.

This was a thoroughly engrossing adventure story. Although I think it might appeal more to men? However, it seemed historically correct and had a great story line . . . You really want to contuine following Sean in his adventures and misadventures. I will definitely be purchasing the sequel.

A very enjoyable different sort of book!

A friend suggested I read this book and I'm glad he did. I enjoy reading erotica but I don't like the stories which go into minute, repetitive detail about which body part is doing what. "Adventure Wanted" is a well-written and interesting read about a man who wants to try something different and the reader gets to follow him along on his journey almost as though we're there with him. I loved not knowing for sure whether this was a novel or a real account of the author's adventures. If it's real (and actually even if it's made up) I'm really curious to know how the characters in the book are doing now!
