About the Author

Ferdinand Rodriguez is professor emeritus of chemical engineering at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. He was the author of the first edition of this textbook. His research in the field of polymers resulted in over 150 journal articles, while he was on the Cornell faculty. Many of these were presented at meetings of the American Chemical Society, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and the Society of Plastics Engineers. In retirement he remains active in Cleveland chapters of these organizations.

Claude Cohen is the Fred H. Rhodes professor of engineering at Cornell University. His research interests focus on the structure–property relationships of elastomers and the testing of theories of rubber elasticity and fracture. Previous research efforts were devoted to the study of suspensions and their applications. He was a co-principal investigator of the Cornell Injection Molding Program initiated under a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and supported by an industrial consortium until 2000.

Christopher K. Ober is the Francis Bard professor of materials engineering and has served as chair of the department of materials science and engineering. More recently he has been associate dean of engineering for research and graduate studies and the interim dean of engineering at Cornell. He has pioneered new materials for photolithography and studies the biology materials interface. An early contributor to the investigation of self-organizing systems, he studies liquid crystals and block copolymers. More recently he has begun to study nanoparticle materials.

Lynden A. Archer is a professor of chemical engineering at Cornell University and the William C. Hooey director of the School of Chemical and Bimolecular Engineering Ithaca, NY. His research focuses on transport properties of polymers and polymer–particle hybrids and their applications for electrochemical energy storage. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society, the recipient of the 2013 National Science Foundation Special Creativity Award from the Division of Materials Research. Archer has published over 160 scientific papers on physical polymer science and nanomaterials science and applications, and the 2014 Nanoscale Science & Engineering Forum Award from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

About the Author

I really enjoyed this book

I really enjoyed this book. I had read both "Angels & Demons" and "The Da Vinci Code," and found this novel to be a welcome departure from religion. Brown focuses on government conspiracies and scientific misinformation, and it's just as good of a story. I do think that the first 100 pages are very slow. I remember reading up to that point and thinking "oh, that's what this book is about." After the first 100 pages, the story picks up and becomes a suspenseful thrill-ride through the ice and snow. In the end, this was a great book that I recommend to anyone who enjoys Dan Brown books, or anyone who enjoys a good story! There are plenty of memorable moments, over-the-top action, and intrigue.

I bought this book as a gift for someone and then ended up reading it myself before they did. The hardback edition was great; the cover has held up remarkably well. I've thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Meanwhile, Rachel's father, Senator Sexton, is running for president on the platform of privatizing the space industry. His assistant soon finds out not all is as it seems with his campaign. Can the truth be found out in time?

Couldn't put it down!

Dan Brown did not disappoint with Deception Point! His knowledge is vast and impressive. This book is not as "symbolic" as Angels and Demons or The Da Vinchi Code, rather Brown intrigues us with his knowledge of scientific innovation. Deception Point is based on the (fictional) political scandal of the century! The Presidential hopeful uses NASA's failures to launch his campaign while the current President firmly stands behind NASA regardless of their past failures. Then NASA reveals the biggest news in the history of science, but did they make a mistake? The presidential hopeful's daughter, who already works for the President of the USA gets caught up in the scandal of all scandals and finds herself fighting for her life with no clue who she can trust with a cover-up of this magnitude in process. I loved it and couldn't stop reading late into the night...sometimes early into the morning! Let me know what you thought!

This is a must have prayer book to pray for unbelievers!

Do you have a loved one that is not saved or is not walking with Christ? I know I have many people in my life that I am concerned about their salvation. In the book From the Courtroom of Heaven to the Throne of Grace and Mercy by Jeanette Strauss she gives a detailed prayer strategy to pray for backslidden Christians. It is so practical and hands on.

In this book she tells the story of how she had been praying for her daughter for seven years to come back to the Lord, but nothing had worked until she stood in the gap for her daughter to be moved from the Courtroom of Judgement to the Throne Room of Grace and Mercy. Strauss describes how Satan has a legal right to bind people when they are willfully disobeying the Lord. The Holy Spirit spoke to Strauss and told her that her daughter was a lawful captive and to stand in the gap as an intercessor, so that she might have the veil removed from her eyes. I don't feel my review is doing the book justice, but what I learned in this book is eye opening. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in prayer for unbelievers. This isn't a book that you read only once. It is a reference book that you will want to re-read and share with others.

A necessary part of your library

Was pleasantly surprised as this book filled in at least one area not covered before (I own every book on Sit 'n Go Poker, that I know of). Its not nearly as useful as "Sit 'n Go Strategy, by Collin Moshman, but still useful. Before Americans got kicked off the Internet, I had a +44% ROI at Poker Stars, at low-levels. I live in Nevada. We have two legal, intrastate sites. Ultimate Poker is a total rip-off with a 'house hold' of over 45%, on S'nGs. WSOP has such a dearth of players and choice it is essentially worthless. I need to move to Portugal!
